  • Fred C. Dobbs says:

This origin for Lowe as born in Charlottesville March 17, 1964, and living here for a few years has been difficult to prove.

Neither the phone books nor the UVa Directories for those years lists a Lowe with the appropriate letter C except John C Lowe, a one-time pal of mine unrelated to Rob. (That Lowe became Chief Gordon’s law partner.)

The owner of the house or apartment where Rob Lowe spent his first years could probably follow the American dream by jacking up the rent.

Somewhere there must be a source on the net that lists the father’s full name.

Fred I thought you might like this

Lowe was born the son of Barbara (née Hepler), a teacher, and Charles D Lowe, a trial lawyer; Rob’s parents divorced when Lowe was young. His mother took Lowe and his younger brother, actor Chad Lowe, to California. Because of a virus during infancy, he is deaf in his right ear. He was raised in a in Dayton, Ohio before moving to the Westside of Los Angeles.

His father is a University of Virginia grad (LL.B., 1964). Phi Alpha Delta. Member, University of Virginia Law Review, 1963-1964. Listed: “The Best Lawyers in America” in areas of Family Law and Personal Injury Designated Top Ohio Lawyers. Member: Dayton and Ohio State Bar Associations; The Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Practice Areas: Personal Injury; Medical Malpractice; Domestic Relations; Family Law; Civil Litigation; General Practice

Rob attended Santa Monica High School, the same high school as fellow actors Emilio Estevez, Charlie Sheen, Sean Penn, Chris Penn and Robert Downey Jr. (something in the water fountains?)
