I love some of Duncan’s photos of downtown, some for the rich information contained within them (like this photo of the once-painted downtown silhouette sculptures and some because they’re justplaingorgeous.

I’ve been wondering what will happen to the motel sign at the corner of Proffit and 29N. It’s such a wonderful old rusted thing.
It finally disappeared a week or two ago, I guess. Anticipating that, I went out there a month ago and took ~150 pictures of it.
The “(No) Vacancy” and “Free Cable TV” signs are still there, though. :-)
