Mandy Owen is excited about Google’s new user-generated maps, and even shows how to use it, sharing her very own annotated map of Charlottesville. This new Google Maps feature really lowers the barrier to creation of annotated web-based maps. Who will create a Google Map of Section 8 housing? Murders for the past decade? Restaurants? The top ten places to have sex at UVa? Bring it on, people.

Here’s mine. This stuff is really cool, and I can think of all kinds of examples of how it can be used.
What a great idea… for everyone’s benefit!
Cool. :) I haven’t set aside the time to create any myself yet, because I just know it’ll suck me in for hours.
mine. Not much on it yet. I’m using just the little balloons to avoid the sucked-in syndrome. Nothin’ fancy.
