This origin for Lowe as born in Charlottesville March 17, 1964, and living here for a few years has been difficult to prove.
Neither the phone books nor the UVa Directories for those years lists a Lowe with the appropriate letter C except John C Lowe, a one-time pal of mine unrelated to Rob. (That Lowe became Chief Gordon’s law partner.)
The owner of the house or apartment where Rob Lowe spent his first years could probably follow the American dream by jacking up the rent.
Somewhere there must be a source on the net that lists the father’s full name.

Lowe was born the son of Barbara (née Hepler), a teacher, and Charles D Lowe, a trial lawyer; Rob’s parents divorced when Lowe was young. His mother took Lowe and his younger brother, actor Chad Lowe, to California. Because of a virus during infancy, he is deaf in his right ear. He was raised in a in Dayton, Ohio before moving to the Westside of Los Angeles.
