And that’s why the libertarians seldom win office. To get the most votes, a politician must make the most people feel that they can connect with his philosophy. He does this by being as vague as possible, usinge a lot of polictically correct language, and smiling a lot. If his terminology is broad enough in meaning, people will actually think he is saying what they feel. Since very few people actually follow how a politician votes or questions what he has accomplished while he was in office, he can use the same tactics to get re-elected and is usually successful.
