Just received news that a long-time friend, Jamie Bishop, was one of the ones killed. He was teaching the German class when the gunman walked in a killed Jamie point-blank range. My heart goes out to his family and all the others that were affected by this.

Does anyone know if anyone from this area is on the list of victims?
To my knowledge, no, nobody who died was from the Charlottesville area, though I’m yet to see a complete list. Only 26 have been identified so far. Several had ties to the area, as Jason points out, something that we’ll be hearing a lot about in the days ahead.
