WVTF‘s RadioIQ — which I listen to just about all the time in my car since my iPod died — has expanded their coverage area in C’ville. The BBC news/ NPR talk station used to broadcast just on 89.7FM, and the signal dropped off any distance outside of Charlottesville. With their new transmitter, at 91.5FM, they’ve expanded their coverage, and now I can, happily, listen at home.
Also, 89.3 is now broadcasting WVTF Publlic Radio in HD. For now, that doesn’t mean much, because there are so few receivers out there. However, in the future, WVTF will be able to multicast at least two streams at a time. That could pave the way to many more programming choices.
I’m sorry to hear your iPod is dead – how are you keeping up with all the wonderful choices available on cvillepodcast.com? :)
IPod death, hard drive or battery? Just curious.

Actually, iTunes is my new favorite podcast subscription program. I’m really impressed with it.

Hard drive, though the battery life was down to just an hour or two. It’s a first generation iPod that I bought when they first came out. I feel like I got my money’s worth, so I’m not complaining, but I do miss it. :)
So come on people, 20 blogads and Waldo gets a Nano!
Ha! No no, I got married 15 days ago, and they’re still charging for weddings. If I had this debt and I were still a single man, I assure you, I’d buy that Nano and totally justify it. I don’t know how, but, I guarantee you, I’d totally convince myself that an iPod Nano was way more important. But…uh…the little lady’s not going to go for it, I’m thinking.
Dang. Now I really want a Nano. Way to go, perlogik. ;)
sounds like you didn’t get lucky like i did…got a 20 gig iPod as a wedding present :)
personally, if i were you, i’d get XM radio. it’s cheaper and better IMO.

We registered for one. It may happen yet. <fingers crossed>
XM Radio is swell, but I can’t listen to Charlottesville Podcasting Network on it. :)
Soon, a portable XM radio receiver will come with a hard drive which will work just as well. Though, it seems Sirius has the better deals happening at the moment. Regardless, I’m hoping that CPN will be available to people in a variety of ways.
