An unidentified man was hit and killed by a train on Shamrock Road, Stephanie Satchell reports for CBS-19. It’s not clear how long ago he died, or even known who the man is. Police do believe that he was killed after being struck by the train, rather than beforehand, but that seems to about all that they know right now. 09/09 Update: He committed suicide, police say.

It was a suicide and if the Newsplex had either spent 15 minutes at J-school or listed when police told them that… they wouldn’t have been so crass as to package it.
Maybe it’s why their 6pm newscast comes in 5th at 6:00pm, right behing “King of Queens.”

Let’s not start throwing ratings out. But yes, that was poor judgement and news philosophy if they knew it was a suicide. 29 focused on the traffic element of it which was newsworthy.
