I filed a motion to quash the subpoena seeking to identify all of cvillenews.com’s readers and commenters. It’s a pretty solid smack-down of a subpoena that’s a flagrant abuse of the legal system, primarily intended to intimidate all of us. See my blog for details. #
Anybody privacy-conscious enough to have disabled Flash cookies will find the link to the subpoena does not work. The Scribd site where it is hosted requires Flash cookies.
You can re-enable Flash cookies by visiting this Adobe/Macromedia page:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager03.html
and checking the box “Allow third-party Flash content to store data on your computer.”
Yes, it’s weird, but the only way to control Flash options is on that web page. What will not work is right-clicking the Flash content and going to “Preferences”. Only one preference tab can be accessed there. The other tabs are disabled because they require the Macromedia web page.
You like closed-source software now? ;)

I hate Flash.
Curious. Why do you hate Flash?
Here’s a start. :)
