A jury has convicted Dr. John Reeves, of Albemarle, of first degree murder, sentencing him to 45 years in prison. He killed his ex-wife in November of 2000, apparently over child support and alimony payments. Reeves was over $300,000 in debt, owing $138,000 to his ex-wife.
