Why do people still let their dogs run loose, especially in a area with hunters AND wild coyotes? As a life-long dog owner, I know this is how it USED to be but the world is different now. The dog is your responsibility and you, the human caretaker, need to make sure it is safe.
I hate seeing dogs running loose. In our neighborhood, they’re always out in the road, which seems very irresponsible and dangerous. However, it seems like if the dog was on its owner’s property, then it wasn’t really running loose.
The lots in the area where this happened are very large – 20 acres or so – so it could be hard to keep an eye on any animal, even if it is on your property. This is a very, very sad occurence.
