This is a community news blog about Charlottesville, VA, USA, started in March of 2001. It's run by Waldo Jaquith. It has nothing to do with C-Ville Weekly, the newspaper. Feel free to submit a story.
I saw it! It was very bright, and moved quite rapidly. Was unable to spot the missing toolbag.
That was the most impressive thing, how very bright it was. I was manning the telescope, my wife the binoculars. It was too fast for me to track, but she managed to observe it closely enough to note it was irregular in shape, not just a point of light. Cool!
We go out to see satellites quite frequently.
I like http://www.heavens-above.com/ for tracking, but there are other sites out there with good info.
Iridium flares are lots of fun to spot.
